The mission of the Community Development Service Department is to ensure the quality of private and commercial development in the community and maintain and preserve the Town’s infrastructure.  The Department includes multiple divisions that provide a broad range of technical expertise and support to advance residential and commercial projects from design to construction.  It also provides administrative support to the Planning and Zoning, Inland Wetlands, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Public Building Committee.  The Department is also responsible for designing and constructing the Town’s streets, sidewalks, drainage and bridges.

The Department is organized into the following divisions:

  • Building Inspection
  • Engineering
  • Inland Wetlands & Watercourses
  • Planning & Zoning, Code Enforcement
  • Health
