Under Construction

The following project is under construction.

Elm Street (State Route 160) is a two-lane minor arterial east-west route that carries 7600 average daily traffic (ADT). It connects Rocky Hill's two major commercial corridors, Silas Deane Highway (State Route 99) and Cromwell Avenue (State Route 3). There are numerous subdivisions, a public park, a church, and a CT Transit bus route adjacent to Elm Street. Although the road is owned by the state, the sidewalks located within the right-of-way are maintained by the Town.

Sidewalks have been constructed by various entities on the eastern and western ends but gaps remain. This project will eliminate the remaining gap with the construction of 1935 linear feet of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalk and create a safe, pedestrian travel way from the east to the west side of town.
