Criminal Investigations Division

The Investigations Division is commanded by Lieutenant Joseph Phelps. There are three Detectives and one Youth Specialized Detective assigned to this Division. Detectives are specialized investigators who assist the Patrol Division in case investigation of all major crimes and complex crimes that require prolonged investigation or special training and expertise.

A sample list of the types of investigations and services that the unit provides is:

• Vice and criminal intelligence operations
• Narcotic investigations
• Crime scene processing
• Forensic processing
• Evidence processing and inventory services for the department
• Employee background checks
• Other investigations as needed
