Shredding

Shredding Events

FOR ROCKY HILL RESIDENTS ONLY

Periodically, the Department of Public Works offers public shredding events as a service to Rocky Hill residents. Shredding sensitive personal documents is an important aspect of protecting your identity against theft. View the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection's Guidelines for shredding and saving personal documents.

The attendees can view their material being shredded in a small monitor that is located on the side of the truck.  The material is shredded at your site and then re-shredded at Infoshred's secure facility. Finally, it is baled and sent to a paper mill to be recycled.
